The writings that I’ve been working on these past few months finally have music behind them. I do vocals for Downtime and I couldn’t be more stoked about how all of this is turning out. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. We will be releasing our first EP “Live Alone” this coming summer.

Tomorrow I’m releasing a personal poem I wrote this month titled “Self Storage”. Explanation for the story behind it is below. I’ll release the video with lyrics here. Stay tuned, and thank you for the support.

“I wrote this poem about the closest thing I had to a childhood home getting foreclosed on, December 13th 2012. I lived in this house for over 12 years with my single mother and older sister as they both raised me together until I moved out in the fall of 2011. In the beginning of 2012 I left for my first tour and since then I toured 5 times in the one year, gone a total of 4 months and bounced from house to house. Welcomed into homes just to trip on the way out, and ended up back at 1804 NW 6th CT Camas, WA my supposed “home”. I lived there with my sister only after my mother moved out/on to better things (no sarcasm, really), until we received our much anticipated 90-day-noice. After that day it was no longer was a home, it was a place to just store myself and things. My sister left, and my cat (Goblin) and I were alone in the house, stored away in a small mill town. I was always the one that was going to be the first to leave, and move on yet I ended up back here, and I think part of it was because I left for the wrong reasons. I wrote this poem about getting the fuck out after learning that and finding a solid foundation because I now know the value of simply having a home to go to. In no way do I mean that my family failed me, or that great times didn’t happen here. Life happens.” -Trey
